Fetch has finally arrived! Time to party! (no humans allowed)
We're super happy to finally announce the launch of Fetch! It's been a busy, but enjoyable few weeks preparing for the opening of our new business and the start of our new careers. We've barely been able to contain our excitement! Thanks to everyone who's helped us achieve our vision - we really appreciate it!
As some of you already know, Fetch was established by Matt and Em who've been together now for four years. We've both loved animals for as long as we can remember and have always wanted to work with them in some way. Matt grew up with both conventional and unconventional pets - dogs, doves, pigeons, a snake and various birds of prey. Fortunately they all got on well together! Em, who's Australian, had a childhood surrounded by weird and wonderful indigenous Australian animals such as possums and joeys, as well as her many family cats, dogs and guinea pigs.
The idea of Fetch began more than a year ago. It started with a yearning to feel more purpose and happiness at work, and a strong desire to work outdoors with animals. Matt was climbing the corporate career ladder in finance and having trouble accepting that chronic stress is the customary bi-product to success. Em's role as a corporate receptionist was monotonous, lacking challenge and purpose. It was clear that a drastic change was needed.
We both left stable jobs (this involved a huge amount of deliberation and sleepless nights) to pursue this passion. For us Fetch is not only a small business venture, it's a long overdue passion project which we hope will be every bit as successful as it is fulfilling.
